In this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing high-quality meals that meet strict airline standards, ensuring food safety compliance, and supporting timely production to meet flight schedules. Profil
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and cook a variety of food items, including entrées, sides, sauces, and desserts, following recipes and portion standards
- Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet company and airline expectations
- Support timely production to meet operational deadlines and flight schedules
- Collaborate with Chefs, Slicers, and team members to maintain efficient workflow
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and GMP standards
- Properly handle, store, label, date, and rotate ingredients (FIFO)
- Maintain the cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Ensure proper use and basic maintenance of equipment
- Assist with inventory tracking and report low stock or shortages
- Minimize waste through proper portioning and rotation practices
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
- Maintain professional appearance, grooming, and personal hygiene
- Use required PPE and follow all safety guidelines
- Support other kitchen areas as needed to ensure readiness for service
- Other Job Duties as assigned
What You Bring
· At least two years of experience cooking in a restaurant or catering business
· Basic understanding of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and cooking methods (training provided)
· Knowledge of food safety principles and sanitation guidelines
· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
· Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
· Strong teamwork and communication skills
· Willingness to learn and follow menu instructions and recipes
· Ability to stand for extended periods of time
· Ability to read, write, and speak English
· Basic awareness of HACCP and food safety standards
· Positive attitude and ability to adapt in a high-volume kitchen environment

The role of a Cook at Newrest is physically demanding. You must stand, walk, talk, and hear regularly and use your hands to handle or feel. You must also lift, push, and move up to 50 pounds. The work environment will be in a Kitchen with multiple ovens, with temperatures ranging from room temperature to very hot and noise levels varying from moderate to very loud.
