Profil

Required Responsibilities 

Supervisory and Management 

  • Oversee the Pick & Pack department 
  • Manage and supervise the work of all employees within the department 
  • Motivate and inspire team members to perform above expectations through proper recognition methods and programs. 
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures are followed per Newrest MLC and client’s requirements 
  • Communicate effectively with all crew members and team members 
  • Other job duties may be assigned based on operational need  
  • Operational 
  • Take ownership of the operations by taking full responsibility for anything within the department 
  • Ensure all employees are given the tools and coaching needed to succeed. 
  • Ensure all carts are filled accurately, promptly, and high-quality according to the datasheets and clients’ requirements. 
  • Ensure that processes are as efficient as possible. 
  • Empower team members to identify and resolve operational issues. 
  • Bring any concerns and recommendations to the management’s attention. 
  • Communicate with the warehouse department about any stock item needs. 
  • Foresee potential needs or problems and have action plans to avoid production disruptions. 
  • Communicate job performance standards to team members. 
  • Clearly and confidently communicate with client representatives as needed. 
  • Regular and timely attendance is expected for the position. 
  • Other job duties may be assigned based on operational need  

Quality and Safety 

  • Ensure that all processes conform to the customer and Newrest MLC specifications 
  • Comply at all times with good hygiene and manufacturing practices (e.g., hazard analysis and critical control points [HACCP], FIFO) 
  • Carry out cleaning, washing, and sanitation of premises by cleaning plan 
  • Investigate and complete incidents/accidents documentation 
  • Enforce safety processes and legal requirements for all processes 
  • Other job duties may be assigned based on operational need  

Administrative Task 

  • Assist in interviewing and determining the individuals to join your department 
  • Approve time off requests and other leaves of absence 
  • Assist in performing performance reviews for all department team members 
  • Approve all timecards and resolve timecard discrepancies 
  • Mentor and coach team members and provide corrective actions as required 
  • Regular and timely attendance is expected for the position. 
  • Other job duties may be assigned based on operational need  

 

Education/Experience Requirements 

 

  • High School Diploma required. 
  • College or Technical Training is a plus but not required. 
  • At least six years of experience supervising/managing people, preferably in a warehouse/distribution environment  
  • At least six years of experience leading a team of 75 +  
  • Strong leadership experience with experience in turnaround environments 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with non-exempt and upper management levels 
  • Ability to effectively handle conflict and de-escalate emotionally charged situations 
  • Good understanding of OSHA, HR, and other employment laws 
  • Good knowledge of investigation procedures and root cause analysis 
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and operational processes 
  • Good knowledge of HACCP & food safety standards 
  • Strategic thinker with creative and excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills 
  • Resilient self-starter who can act independently and learn quickly within a rapidly evolving environment 
  • Aptitude in showing self-initiative and follow-through 
  • Detail-oriented and ability to see the big picture 
  • Strong ability with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint 
  • Excellent organizational and motivational skills 
  • Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability 
  • Strong analytical skills for interpretation of data to effectively manage risk 
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with site operations, functional leaders, and external clients and vendors

The role of the Pick Pack Manager at Newrest MLC is physically demanding. You must stand, walk, talk, listen regularly, and use your hands to handle or feel. You must also lift, push, and move up to 50 pounds. The work environment will be in an open warehouse, with temperatures ranging from room temperature to very hot and noise levels varying from moderate to very loud.
