Senior Maintenance Supervisor

Summary

The Senior Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and reliability of all facility systems, kitchen equipment, utilities,   and support infrastructure within an inflight catering operation. This role ensures equipment availability, regulatory compliance, food safety standards, and efficient maintenance operations to support daily airline catering production.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Operations

• Supervises and coordinates preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
• Ensure the reliability and availability of production equipment, refrigeration systems, HVAC, boilers, dishwashing systems, conveyors, and catering vehicles.
• Plan, schedule, and monitor maintenance activities to minimize operational downtime.
• Investigate equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technicians and contractors.
• Assign daily work orders and prioritize maintenance activities based on operational needs.
• Monitor employee performance and ensure adherence to company policies and safety procedures.
• Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance staff.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with OSHA, health and safety regulations, environmental requirements, and company standards.
• Support food safety and quality programs, including HACCP and airline customer requirements.
• Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and regulatory documentation.

Asset & Facility Management

• Oversee maintenance of kitchen facilities, cold storage areas, warehouses, loading docks, and office areas.
• Manage spare parts inventory and maintenance budgets.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance services.
• Identify and implement equipment upgrades and continuous improvement opportunities.

Operational Support

• Collaborate with production, transportation, quality assurance, and operations teams to support customer service requirements.
• Ensure maintenance support is available for 24/7 catering operations when required.
• Participate in capital projects, facility expansions, and equipment installations.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 5-10 years of maintenance experience in food production, manufacturing, aviation catering, or industrial environments.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, refrigeration, mechanical equipment, PLCs, and facility maintenance.
• Experience with Preventive Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
