We are looking for a Warehouse Team Leader to join our team and play a key role in ensuring our warehouse operation runs safely, efficiently and to the highest possible standard. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced operational environment, takes pride in getting things right and knows how to motivate a team.
You will be at the heart of the operation, your leadership will directly influence warehouse performance, customer satisfaction, safety and the successful delivery of our daily targets. Role and Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate stock levels and ensure stock records are consistently up to date.
- Oversee goods-in, picking, packing, dispatch and stock control activities.
- Ensure goods are correctly packed, prepared and ready for dispatch.
- Monitor orders and deliveries, ensuring they are processed efficiently and on time.
- Undertake deliveries where required and ensure goods are handled and stored in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
- Use the Warehouse Management System (WMS), databases and Microsoft Excel to accurately input, retrieve and manage operational information.
- Plan and manage the team’s daily workload to ensure business, departmental and customer targets are achieved.
- Lead, support and motivate warehouse team members, ensuring everyone understands their responsibilities and priorities.
- Monitor team performance on a daily basis and identify, address and escalate any concerns to the Department Manager.
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure work is completed safely, accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, organisation and warehouse discipline.
- Ensure full awareness of and compliance with all QHSE policies, procedures and Company standards.
- Ensure all team members are appropriately supervised and follow all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements.
- Report all accidents, hazards and near misses in line with Company procedures and ensure appropriate follow-up action is taken.
- Promote a strong safety-first culture, ensuring Company HSE standards are consistently implemented and maintained.
- Support and comply with all Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
- Build positive and professional relationships with colleagues, customers, clients and other stakeholders.
- Stay up to date with any changes to Company policies, procedures, processes and working practices.
- Take ownership of additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the Line Manager.
Perfil
Knowledge and Skills
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in catering or a closely related operational environment.
- A valid forklift licence with relevant practical operating experience.
- Experience using WMS/database systems, with excellent attention to detail when entering and managing operational data.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, email and general office/warehouse systems.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a busy environment.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to communicate with warehouse teams, management, customers and external stakeholders.
- A practical and proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- The ability to identify issues quickly, take ownership and implement appropriate solutions.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate a team, delegate effectively and hold people accountable.
- The physical fitness required for a hands-on role, including the reasonable lifting and handling of heavy or bulky items.
