In this role, you’ll be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, utensils, trays, and dishware to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and food safety are maintained. 

You’ll play a critical behind-the-scenes role in supporting production by ensuring all items are cleaned, organized, and ready for use. What You’ll Do 

• Empty food carts and remove leftover items 

• Dispose of food waste properly in accordance with company policies 

• Clean and wash food carts as required 

• Move carts to designated areas for further processing or distribution 

• Load dishes, trays, and utensils into dishwashing machines 

• Unload clean items and ensure proper handling 

• Sort and place cleaned items in designated areas for production use 

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of dishwashing and work areas 

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and safety guidelines 

• Perform other duties as assigned based on operational needs 

What You Bring 

• Ability to lift items/packages (up to 50lbs./15 kg) 

• Ability to stand for long periods. 

• Ability to handle pressure in a fast-paced environment 

• Attendance, diligence, punctuality, reliability 

• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining safety standards  

• Flexibility to work in various areas of the department as needed  

• Understanding of how individual performance impacts upstream and downstream operations  

• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members  

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately 

• Good knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards.

The role of the General Worker at Newrest is physically demanding. You must stand, walk, talk, listen regularly, and use your hands to handle or feel. The work environment will be in an open warehouse, with temperatures ranging from room temperature to very hot and noise levels varying from moderate to very loud.
