Required Responsibilities 

• Complete minor repairs and building improvements. 

• Prepare conference rooms before and after important meetings. 

• Clean all common room areas, including the kitchen, cafeteria, lobby, parking areas, and break room. 

• When applicable, safety hazard signs, including warning signs for wet paint and wet floors, should be placed in the building. 

• Monitor, clean, and service washrooms. 

• Respond to any significant spills or other cleaning crises. 

• Remove litter and rubbish from the main rooms. 

• Help order supplies required for facility maintenance 

• Other job duties may be assigned based on operational needs. 

Education/Experience Requirements 

• A high school diploma or relevant qualification is required. 

• At least six months of experience working in a similar or relevant role  

• Ability to lift items/packages (up to 50lbs./15 kg) 

• Ability to stand for long periods. 

• Ability to handle pressure in a fast-paced environment 

• Attendance, diligence, punctuality, reliability

The role of the Porter at Newrest is physically demanding. You must stand, walk, talk, listen regularly, and use your hands to handle or feel. You must also lift, push, and move up to 50 pounds. The work environment will be in an open warehouse, with temperatures ranging from room temperature to very hot and noise levels varying from moderate to very loud.
