Position Overview
We are seeking a high-impact operations leader to support the Newrest IAH Deputy Unit Manager in driving excellence across our facility. This role plays a critical part in leading teams, optimizing operations, and ensuring exceptional service delivery while upholding Newrest’s culture, values, and client standards. What You’ll Do
Lead & Inspire
- Champion and model the Newrest culture, values, and leadership behaviors throughout the operation.
- Lead, coach, and develop department managers, ensuring accountability for performance, KPIs, and standards.
- Build leadership capability and depth through active coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with managers and frontline teams, fostering alignment and engagement.
- Create a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement at all levels.
Drive Operational Excellence
- Oversee daily operations across production, logistics, supply chain, safety, quality, staffing, and customer service.
- Ensure all catering and service commitments are delivered safely, accurately, and on time.
- Maintain strict compliance with food safety, quality, security, hygiene, and safety programs.
- Consistently achieve customer and internal KPIs while proactively addressing performance gaps.
- Anticipate operational risks and implement solutions to prevent delays, quality issues, or safety hazards.
- Develop and improve standard operating procedures to enhance efficiency, reliability, and product quality.
- Lead quality checks and continuous improvement initiatives across the operation.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to safety, security, and hygiene.
Manage Financial Performance
- Ensure efficient and responsible use of all operational resources.
- Operate within approved budgets while maintaining service quality and performance expectations.
- Drive productivity improvements, cost reductions, waste minimization, and capacity optimization.
Support and Develop Our People
- Evaluate team performance and potential, addressing performance or behavioral concerns promptly and fairly.
- Foster a positive, inclusive work environment built on trust, respect, and accountability.
- Support employee engagement, morale, and retention initiatives.
- Address employee and leadership concerns and partner with Human Resources as needed.
Profil
QUALIFICATIONS
· Strong leadership experience, preferably in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution center facility.
· Strong communication skills with ability to communicate with non-exempt to upper management levels.
· Strong understanding of operations, logistics, human resources, and safety.
· Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and operational processes a plus but not required.
· Good knowledge of HACCP & food safety standards.
· Aptitude in showing self-initiative and follow-through.
· Detail-oriented and ability to see high pictures.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to access all public areas of the property and airport, including stairwells, confined spaces, heights, etc. Work may involve lifting heavy/bulky objects properly within the published health & safety guidelines on manual handling.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must always wear a visible name badge. Complete all relevant paperwork within specified standards and timeframes. Ensure all specified training and food safety standards are always adhered to. Complete any other duties as requested by management.
To ensure everyone is fully trained and can do their job effectively, encourage employees to learn mandatory as well as new skills and develop existing ones. Design and develop training programs to suit the operational needs of the business.
