Labor

As an HGV Class 2 Driver you will play a vital role in ensuring aircraft are fully catered and ready for departure and help to ensure a seamless experience for airline customers and passengers.

 

Shifts:          Rotating Nine and half hour Shifts, 5 on 3 off 

Hours:          Start time between: 4.00 and 11.30 & Finish time between 13.30 & 21.00

Rate:            £17.27 per hour

Overtime:     1.2 of hourly rate, after the completion of 173 hours each month

Our operation runs seven days a week, so flexibility is essential. You'll work a range of shifts, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Depending on airside operational requirements overtime and extended shifts as a key requirement of the role.

Perfil

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections as standard security and safety protocol and report any issues immediately.
  2. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the vehicle and loading areas.
  3. Ensure vehicle is security checked and sealed by an authorised staff member before departure with completed specified documentation.
  4. Drive HGV2 trucks to transport catering trolleys, meals, beverages and equipment to aircraft stands or airport terminals.
  5. Load aircraft as per the galley plans and adhering to company policy.
  6. Load and unload catering on and off the truck at the unit and aircraft in a safe and timely manner.
  7. Minor maintenance of vehicles i.e., top-up screen wash, ad-blue.

Essential Skills and Requirements

  • Valid UK HGV Category C (Class 2) licence.
  • Valid CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
  • Digital Tachograph card.
  • Previous experience in airline catering, logistics, or customer service preferred, but not essential.
  • A team player who can effectively manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
