Dishwasher - General Worker

SUMMARY

This individual works in the Dishwash department performing a variety of possible tasks that involve unloading carts, placing dishes in commercial dishwasher, removing dishes from dishwasher and other miscellaneous cleaning tasks. Although the individual may not do all the responsibilities mentioned below, employees must be willing and able to perform the tasks below as assignments change frequently and without notice.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Empty food carts

· Dispose of food properly from incoming carts

· Wash food carts as necessary

· Move food carts to location so they can be moved to appropriate location

· Load dishes on to dishwashing machine

· Unload dishes from dishwashing machine

· Clean, wash, and disinfect but not limited to dishes, cutlery, pots, pans, and bins

· Practice good sanitation and maintain a clean and organized work area

· Place dishes in correct area for other departments

· Regular and timely attendance is expected for the position.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

· No experience required, but any experience in fast-paced environments is helpful.

· Ability to work quickly and safely

· Ability to show flexibility in working in various areas of the department

· Ability to know how one's performance affects the areas before and after you

· Ability to read and speak to understand instructions from supervisors and co-workers

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to a constant cold or hot temperature environment. The individual is required to stand or walk for the entire shift and is expected to frequently lift, bend over, talk and/or hear. The employee may also regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. The noise level may range from moderate to loud.
