We are looking to hire a Ramp Safety Manager based in Frankfurt, ready to travel between Frankfurt, Munich and Berlin airport. 

Main responsibilities: 

  • Evaluate compliance on the ramp (perform audit of ramp operations) & take immediate corrective actions (including reporting to HR for disciplinary measures).
  • Guide and ensure safe operations on the ramp.
  • Coach the drivers on the ramp when immediate correction is required.
  • Complete flight audits which are expected to be conducted outside of the vehicle and be interactive with the driver/guide teams. Proactive intervention should be exercised anytime an actual or potential risk arises.
  • Conduct dock audit with address/correct failures and safety violations observed at the dock; improper chocking, reversing without a guide and other unsafe practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all Newrest, airport, civil aviation, security, and local regulatory standards and provide guidance and clarification on these regulations.
  • Work with operations team to deliver effective safety briefings and proactive safety communication programs.
  • Support safety training initiatives.
  • Continuously identify, assess, and reduce/eliminate health and safety risks.
  • Investigate accidents, injuries, and safety opportunities then complete associated reports and make recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Safely operate company vehicles according to all policies, including pre-shift inspections and end of shift clean out.
  • Identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to increase performance. 
  • Ensure all staff are properly trained before starting work.
  • Coordinate new hire safety traning and perform safety training

Perfil

  • Bachelor’s degree in a safety-related field preferred but not required.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a Safety Manager or similar role.
  • 2-4 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or other industry overseeing safety with drivers involved.
  • Previous experience in creating safety programs or changing the culture of safety.
  • Previous experience managing a team of direct and indirect reports.
  • Previous experience W/ Executive level planning
  • Ability to build successful teams and partnerships.

  • Possess a strategic mind-set with the ability to solve problems and resolve conflicts using innovative ideas.
  • Valid Work Permit
  • Valid Driving License
  • Ability to successfully meet all Airport clearance requirements
  • Computers skills (MS-Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Fluent in German and English
