Labor
The Transportation Ramp Lead, supports daily catering operations at the ramp by overseeing drivers, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintain safe, accurate, and timely aircraft catering services.
Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor drivers to meet labor productivity.
- Perform Driver and Helper responsibilities as needed to ensure all flights are catered safely.
- Assist in on-time and accurate catering of all flights.
- Assist the Transportation Supervisor in ensuring compliance with all government regulatory agencies’ standards.
- Train and guide employees in the execution of their duties.
- Oversee drivers and ensure compliance with all USDA agencies standards.
- Safely assist drivers by guiding them to aircraft and ensuring catering SOPs are followed.
- Assist teams with late flights and equipment changes.
- Be diligent, punctual, and reliable.
- Perform other duties assigned.
- Visibly wear Newrest uniform, including safety vest, work boots, and SIDA badge.
- Maintain proper compliance with general manufacturing practices.
- Communicate by radio to supervisors and dispatchers for all items related to the job, including providing updates and issues on whereabouts.
- Drive a company vehicle while respecting ramp regulations.
- Observe the proper use of equipment.
- Follow all procedures for health, safety, and security.
- Properly utilize and comply with all related technology provided to complete daily functions.
- Follow all current and new procedures.
- Communicate with leadership if a safety risk is presented.
- Accommodate any job task requested by leadership.
- Understand and be aware of the rapidly changing work environment.
- All other duties as assigned based on operational needs.
Hours/Breaks
- Shifts cover a 24-hour operation. Breaks and meal periods will be assigned according to number of hours worked in a shift.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays and overtime.
Perfil
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma/General Education Degree (GED).
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Valid driver’s license and current driving abstract.
- Able to pass security identification display area (SIDA Badge) including CBP clearance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines.
- Strong communication skills
- Good understanding of logistics and fleet procedures.
- Good knowledge of HACCP & food safety standards.
- Aptitude in showing self-initiative and follow-through
Working Conditions
The temperature of the environment may fluctuate drastically from extremely cold to extremely warm temperatures. The noise level may range from moderate to very loud.
