Job Summary
Responsible for conducting routine inspections, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing facility systems and machinery. The goal is to minimize downtime and ensure the facility operates safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Preventive Maintenance: Performing scheduled checks, lubricating equipment, changing filters, and tightening connections to prevent failures.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnosing and repairing electrical outlets, wiring, plumbing leaks, fixtures, and HVAC systems.
- Facility Upkeep: Painting, repairing walls/drywall, replacing ceiling tiles, and fixing doors or locks.
- Equipment Maintenance: Assembling and maintaining machinery, tools, and appliances.
- Groundskeeping & Exterior: Assisting with landscaping and exterior repairs (roofs, gutters).
- Safety Compliance: Adhering to OSHA safety standards, conducting safety audits, and ensuring fire/security systems are functional.
- Food Safety Compliance: Adhering to all food safety standards required by Newrest and it’s customers. This includes proper personal hygiene, protective attire to prevent contamination such as hairnets and masks, maintaining clean tools and cleaning up upon completing tasks.
- Documentation: Keeping accurate records of repairs, maintenance tasks, and inventory of parts in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Emergency Response: Responding to urgent maintenance issues, often requiring on-call availability.
Perfil
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Citizen of the USA or Permanent Resident
- High school or equivalent (Preferred), technical school training or HVA electrical certification preferred.
- Ability to lift at least 50 LBS, work outdoors, and being on foot for long periods of time
- Must hold a valid driver license to operate a motor vehicle in Texas
- No traffic moving violations in the last 24 Months
- Pass a background check
- Generally 2+ years of experience in facility maintenance or a related trade.
- Technical Skills: Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
- Tool Proficiency: Ability to use common hand and power tools (drills, saws, wrenches, multimeters).
- Physical Strength: Ability to stand for long periods, walk, climb ladders, and lift/move heavy objects (often 50+ lbs).
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, good communication, and the capacity to work independently.
- Certifications: Valid driver’s license is required;
- Security clearance: Must be able to obtain the security badge to access the SIDA(Security Information Display Area) of the airport.
- Demanding work environment involving exposure to extreme temperatures and congested spaces.
