Labor

The Ramp Safety Lead Coordinator is a key member of the Safety Department, responsible for supporting a robust Safety Management System (SMS). The incumbent monitors, analyzes, and reports on all potential safety hazards and processes to ensure that Newrest IAH Houston’s practices comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as the Newrest Ramp Operations Manual and Newrest SOPs. The incumbent also supports departmental safety initiatives across all modes that align with Newrest’s key performance indicators, as specified in the Newrest Ramp Compliance Manual. This role may require availability 24/7, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  •  Provides day-to-day guidance and tools to ensure that safety auditing and inspection activities identify root causes and contributing factors, and that corrective actions are completed in a timely manner.
  • Under the supervision of the Sr. Safety Manager, provides guidance and oversight of Newrest IAH–Houston’s Risk Management Leading and Lagging Indicators.
  • Assists in conducting and facilitating operational Safety Assurance inspections and audits to determine Newrest Ramp Safety compliance and progress with operational safety processes.
  •  Performs field inspections and audits of departmental practices and operations, evaluating regulatory compliance to assess Newrest IAH–Houston’s adherence to applicable standards.
  • Participates in Safety Committees and other working groups, providing safety-related technical assistance to all departments and supporting Newrest Houston’s safety risk management while promoting aspects of the Ramp Operational Manual.
  • Participates and assists departments to ensure deficiencies identified by safety assessments are tracked and corrected, and that risks are mitigated and managed to protect employees and ramp safety.
  • Assists in leading response efforts to emergencies on the ramp and performs other assignments as requested.
  •  Regularly targeted audits as requested by management.
  • Good knowledge of HACCP.
  • Follow all food safety, health and safety, company rules and standards.
  • Regular and timely attendance is expected for the position.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned based on operational needs.

Perfil

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Vocational or technical training in safety risk management and/or four (4) years of safety auditing, inspecting or compliance administration experience is preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in overall safety procedures, preferably in manufacturing environment.
CERTIFICATIONS;

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain SIDA Badge maintained for the duration of time in position.
