As a Driver you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of in-flight catering supplies and equipment to aircraft and airport terminals, ensuring compliance with aviation safety, hygiene standards, and airside driving regulations. You will drive a designated route and have responsibility for catering and stripping aircraft.
Shifts: Rotating Nine and half hour Shifts, 5 on 3 off
Hours: Various start times between 4.00 and 13.00 and finish times between 13.30 and 22.30
Rate: £18.73 per hour
Overtime: 1.2 of hourly rate, after the completion of 173 hours in the payroll calendar month

Perfil
Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections as standard security and safety protocol.
- and report any issues immediately.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the vehicle and loading areas.
- Comply with Food Safety and Hygiene protocols and ensuring vehicle refrigeration is switched on.
- Ensure vehicle is security checked and sealed by an authorised staff member before departure with completed specified documentation
- Drive HGV2 (Class 2) trucks to transport catering trolleys, meals, beverages, and equipment to aircraft stands or airport terminals.
- Load aircraft as per the galley plans and adhering to company policy.
- Work in accordance with airport, airline and Newrest requirements and safety procedures.
- Load and unload catering on and off the truck at the unit and aircraft in a safe and timely manner
- Return catering to the unit and ensure it is offloaded in the designated area.
- Always drive adhering to airport, DVLA and local rules and or law.
- Drive on to aircraft as per your training, ensuring you do not deviate from it at any point.
- Refuelling vehicles as and when required.
- Report any incidents and accidents to your Line Manager.
- Report all accident/hazards/near misses, in your area in line with Newrest requirements
- Minor maintenance of vehicles i.e., top-up screen wash, ad-blue.
- Ensure your Tacho is used correctly for every trip and in compliance with Road Traffic Regulations.
- Delivering and collecting from various destinations in the UK when requested.
- Always interact with colleagues and clients on site in a professional manner.
Essential Skills
- Valid UK HGV Category C (Class 2) licence.
- Valid CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
- Digital Tachograph card.
- Previous experience in airline catering, logistics, or customer service preferred, but not essential.
- A team player who can effectively manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing quality.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physically fit and capable of working at heights, indoor fridge temperatures around 5 degrees, all outdoor weather conditions and fast-paced environments.
- Lift and/or push up to 25kg.
- Operational awareness with a good understanding of HACCP, COSHH, DDA, Food Hygiene, Health and Safety and DFT requirements.
- Must be flexible to work shifts as operations run seven days a week requirement (including evenings and public holidays), you will be required to extend shifts depending on airside operational requirements.
