Mission
Newrest, a global leader in airline catering and a major player in contract catering, rail catering and retail, is looking for an Accounting Clerk to strengthen its Finance team.
Reporting to the Deputy CFO Netherlands and the CFO Benelux, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records while ensuring compliance with legal and tax requirements in both Belgium and the Netherlands.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Record daily accounting transactions (purchases, sales, bank and financial transactions).
- Manage bank payments and follow up on suppliers and customer accounts.
- Prepare monthly VAT returns.
- Perform bank, supplier and customer reconciliations.
- Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities.
- Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements and balance sheets.
- Monitor fixed assets and depreciation.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax authorities.
- Ensure compliance with Belgian and Dutch accounting and tax regulations.
Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
- Fluent in Dutch (mandatory).
- Good knowledge of Belgian and Dutch accounting standards (BE/NL GAAP) and/or IFRS.
- Good understanding of Belgian and Dutch tax regulations (VAT, Corporate Income Tax, etc.).
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience with CEGID, Winrest, or another ERP/accounting system is considered an asset.
