Mission

RESPONSIBILITIES: You will be responsible for:

  • Must have aggressive contribution to cost reduction
  • Must ensure that best price, rebates and quality is procured and secured from reputable suppliers.
  • Must ensure that tenders are launched timeously as per business requirements, in line with the tender plan.
  • Must ensure that the Service Level Agreements are signed with each supplier for the duration of the tender price agreement period.
  • Must adhere to Newrest’s Best Practices (Toolbox)
  • Must liaise/co-ordinate actions with fellow Procurement Managers in the Newrest network.
  • Must ensure that the Service Level Agreements written for each supplier has non-conformance clauses, linked to the relevant credits, and on time delivery.
  • Must to involved in regular stock takes, and further ensure the accuracy of the stock takes
  • Must be able to forecast purchasing
  • Must be able to have a demand purchasing strategy in place
  • Must visit suppliers’ premises regularly to ensure HACCP compliance
  • Liaising between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers to ensure effective communication regarding Procurement related matters eg. Substitutes, etc.
  • Identifying potential suppliers, visiting existing suppliers, and building and maintaining good relationships with them
  • Take in to account the company’s BEE policy towards Enterprise & Supplier Development for maximums points on Procurement. Work closely with HR on this
  • Develop and maintain procurement procedures and systems control
  • Ensure that the Purchase Book is updated with the new tender prices accurately and timeously
  • To participate in the stock take / inventory, when and where required.
  • Ensure that supplier and purchase KPI’s are regularly kept updated
  • Participate in operational meetings where procurement matters are discussed
  • Create a food basket for price fluctuation tracking; CPI Indicators include

Profile


Qualifications

  • B-Degree in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management
  • Must be fully competent in Microsoft Office
  • Must have a driver’s license and own Vehicle
  • Must have a minimum of 5 Years’ Experience in Purchasing/Procurement
  • Experience in the food industry will be a major advantage
