Mission
Newrest is looking for a QHSE Coordinator for its Atlanta location.
This individual will report to the QHSE Manager and assist with developing, monitoring, and managing the QHSE process for the facility. The individual will be responsible for assisting with monitoring all food safety, handling, and processing practices that are followed in accordance with law and Newrest policy.
Profile
Responsibilities:
- Support all customer and regulatory audits and, at times, liaise with customers and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure GMPs are properly followed.
- Demonstrate and promote a safety culture.
- Strong administrative skills and record-keeping skills
- Maintain Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental files.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards (e.g., Food and Drug Administration (FDA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), HACCP, etc.)
- Prepare incident statistical reports.
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in food science ( Or related field) Required
- 1 -3 years of quality assurance experience, preferably in the food industry
- Business and customer service focused.
- Proven understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), FDA, USDA, and HACCP regulations
- Experience and understanding of Total Quality Management and Change Management
- Well-organized, rigorous, and methodical but enough adaptability to local constraints
- Good knowledge of HACCP & food safety standards.
- Ability to speak and comprehend Spanish STRONGLY PREFERRED

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to handle or feel. The employee must also occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is also required to frequently inspect the manufacturing floor and will be exposed to noise levels that may range from moderate to loud.
