Mission
We are looking for a highly operational Handling Manager to lead our airport catering operations.
This role requires a strong field presence, with the ability to manage complex, time-sensitive operations while ensuring on-time performance, team efficiency, and service excellence.
You will be responsible for supervising day-to-day operations on the ramp, leading operational teams, and driving continuous improvement in a demanding and fast-paced environment:
Key Responsibilities
1. Logistics / Operations expertise
- Experience in field logistics (ideally airport, transport, catering, or other constrained environments)
- Oversee all ramp and handling operations related to airline catering services
- Ensure seamless coordination between flights, drivers, trucks, and production teams
- Manage real-time disruptions (delays, aircraft changes, operational constraints)
- Maintain strong communication with internal departments and airline clients
2. On-time performance management (critical)
- Own and drive on-time performance (OTP) across all operations
- Ability to anticipate delay risks and implement immediate contingency plans
- Rigorous monitoring of operational KPIs (delays, loading times, dispatch)
- Monitor key KPIs (delays, loading times, dispatch efficiency)
- Take decisive corrective actions to maintain service levels
3. Field team management
- Experience managing drivers / operational teams with strong personalities
- Ability to enforce a clear framework while maintaining team buy-in
- Ensure discipline, structure, and adherence to procedures
- Natural leadership, strong field presence (not a “desk” profile)
4. Proactivity & ability to drive change
- Does not endure operations: makes decisions, takes a stand, acts quickly
- Able to challenge existing practices and improve processes
- “Problem solver” mindset: finds immediate solutions, even in chaotic situations
5. Decision-Making & Crisis Management
- Take ownership of operations and act quickly in critical situations (shift work, flight pressure, strong client expectations)
- Manage high-pressure scenarios with composure and efficiency
- Provide clear direction during operational disruptions
Profile
- Superior education / College degree in logistics, supply chain and / or management is an asset
- 3 years management experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills
- Field experience in food handling / Logistics / Transportation / Airlines industry is required
- Ability to build successful teams and partnerships.
- Possess a strategic mind-set with the ability to solve problems and resolve conflicts using innovative ideas.
- Valid Work Permit
- Valid Driving License
- Ability to successfully meet all Airport clearance requirements
- Computers skills (MS-Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
