Mission
Newrest IAH is looking for a Vehicle Inspector that will report to the Transportation Management team in Houston Texas. This position requires a lot of multi-tasking and coordination in a loud environment. The individual will need to be available to work a flexible schedule.
Essential Responsibilities
- Oversee the integrity of vehicle inspections (pre-check /post-check).
- Ensure all vehicles are functioning properly before been released to the users.
- Perform vehicle inspection when the vehicle is returned by the user.
- Check vehicle cabins and cargo boxes to ensure are clean of trash and debris.
- Maintain parking lot clean and organized.
- Perform lubrication of guardrails, inspect loading ramps, cargo straps and tire chocks and fire extinguishers
- Relieve personal cage during breaks.
- Compliance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)/General manufacturing practices (GMP) guidelines for personal hygiene and observe security precautions as mandated by unit management.
- Satisfactory and punctual attendance is expected.
- All other duties as assigned based on operational needs.
Profile
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Authorization to work in the USA.
- High school or GED required.
- Ability to lift at least 50 LBS, work outdoors, and being on foot for long periods of time.
- Must hold a valid driver license to operate a motor vehicle in Texas.
- No traffic moving violations in the last 24 Months.
- Pass a background check.
- Pass a practical exam, demonstrating proficiency in the vehicle inspection process.
- Vehicle maintenance or mechanical background (Preferred).
- Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint) (Preferred).
- Flexibility in schedule which will include work overnight shift, weekends and holidays on a consistent basis, and flexibility to change schedule with short notice based on operational needs.
