Newrest IAH is looking for a Vehicle Inspector that will report to the Transportation Management team in Houston Texas. This position requires a lot of multi-tasking and coordination in a loud environment. The individual will need to be available to work a flexible schedule.

Essential Responsibilities

• Oversee the integrity of vehicle inspections (pre-check /post-check).
• Ensure all vehicles are functioning properly before been released to the users.
• Perform vehicle inspection when the vehicle is returned by the user.
• Check vehicle cabins and cargo boxes to ensure are clean of trash and debris.
• Maintain parking lot clean and organized.
• Perform lubrication of guardrails, inspect loading ramps, cargo straps and tire chocks and fire extinguishers
• Relieve personal cage during breaks.
• Compliance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)/General manufacturing practices (GMP) guidelines for personal hygiene and observe security precautions as mandated by unit management.
• Satisfactory and punctual attendance is expected.
• All other duties as assigned based on operational needs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Authorization to work in the USA.
• High school or GED required.
• Ability to lift at least 50 LBS, work outdoors, and being on foot for long periods of time.
• Must hold a valid driver license to operate a motor vehicle in Texas.
• No traffic moving violations in the last 24 Months.
• Pass a background check.
• Pass a practical exam, demonstrating proficiency in the vehicle inspection process.
• Vehicle maintenance or mechanical background (Preferred).
• Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint) (Preferred).
• Flexibility in schedule which will include work overnight shift, weekends and holidays on a consistent basis, and flexibility to change schedule with short notice based on operational needs.
