Scope and general purpose
To assist cook in preparation and presentation of food continental/Asian or bakery products.
Responsible for
• Kitchen helpers and junior assistant
Liaises with
• Camp Boss
• Clients when Camp Boss not available on site.
Authority
• None
Main Duties
• To assist in the preparation of soups, salads, b/fast.
• To assist in mis-en-place.
• To ensure proper mopping and cleanliness of the kitchen
• To observe all safety rules and procedures.
• To ensure that all equipment and materials are not left in dangerous state.
• To ensure all HSE rules & procedures are followed, and hazards/near miss and accidents are properly reported.
• To raise HSE/Hazard awareness by actively participating in all HSE meetings.
• To follow Newrest HSE plan.
• To report and where possible to act in relation to any accident, fire incident, loss or damage.
• To ensure proper grooming and hygiene.
• To sort out stores and maintain stores including meat, fish, vegetable freezers and dry stores in a neat and orderly manner.
• To sort out/dispose the garbage after each shift.
Additional duties
Any other assignments given occasionally or daily by immediate superior or the management.
Profile
• Culinary Diploma (eg Carnegie Certificate minimum)
• Previous experience in a kitchen environment preferred Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
• Must be able to follow instructions and adhere to food safety guidelines.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment and tools.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
