Mission

Newrest has an exciting opportunity to join as a Despatch Operator in Manchester, you will support the Transport team in managing the daily operation, taking ownership and accountability for meeting operational objectives and targets. You will also be responsible for coordinating inbound/outbound flight schedules and routing to drivers.

Salary:                 £13.00 ph

Profil

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

1. Receive incoming calls, coordinate with all operational, in particular the kitchen staff to ensure                    outbound trolleys are on schedule.

2. Administrative work will be required and regular use iPad, tablets and computers.

3. Monitor computers to determine arriving flight times to arrange for drivers to meet aircraft for                    unloading/loading.

4. Provide accurate and timely information to Transport Team Leaders and other Unit Coordinator.

5. Ensure production and off dock schedules are met.

6. Coordinate with meal planners in case of any irregularities and changes.

7. Contribute and manage within defined systems of working to ensure quality of product, service to the          customer and team progression/development.

8. Plan and manage the team's output to ensure delivery of business, section and customer targets.

9. Escalate concerns to Duty Manager to avoid flight delays.

10. You will be required to obtain an airside pass and cover all operational roles with the exception of                driving roles.

11. Attend/conduct daily operational meetings/briefings.

12. Present accurate information and data as requested.

13. Instigate and support continuous improvement initiatives.

14. Interact with, colleagues, customers and clients in a professional manner at all times.

 Knowledge and Skills

· Minimum 1 years’ experience in catering (desirable).

· The ability to work calmly under pressure.

· Excellent communication, team work and customer service skills.

· Good literacy skills, verbal written and spoken.

· Operational awareness, understand of HACCP, COSHH, DDA, Food Hygiene, Health and                                Safety  and DFT requirements. (Role specific).
