Newrest is recruiting an employee for a permanent position as Accountant to work in the Accounting Department at Reykjavik International Airport.

MISSIONS:

Under the supervision of the Chief Accountant and CFO, you will be in charge of the following tasks:

• Take part in the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Coordinate day-to-day general ledger activities, including preparing and posting daily/monthly journal entries while maintaining proper supporting schedules, documentation and appropriate levels of approval.
• Conduct bank entries & reconciliations
• Process e-bills and respond to e-billing inquiries.
• Pay vendors and suppliers, scheduling and preparing payments.
• Charge expenses to accounts, review of invoice/expense reports, recording entries.
• Monitoring daily cash flow to ensure cash forecasting.
• Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance either for customers or suppliers.
• Produce accounting analyses and reports as needed.
• Ensure accurate preparation of VAT, and other statutory returns under the guidance of the Finance Manager.
• Contribute to the development and implementation or improvement of ERP systems at Country level (e.g. CEGID) and related processes.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or similar.
• At least one relevant work experience in accounting is required
• Ability to work independently, proactive, fast learner, and self-motivated.
• Effective time management skills and ability to maintain clear timelines, follow through and complete tasks. A sense of curiosity for the position would be appreciated.
• Fluent in English.

 

CONTRACT: Permanent contract

LOCATION: 45 min from downtown Reykjavik – Keflavik International Airport

The company is providing a bus pass to cover the transportation costs or a parking card.

SALARY: Depending on experience and profile
